Member world - Galactic Empire
Absit is the homeworld of the Yatir species. Known to the Galactic Republic since about 1000 BBY, only recently has interest turned to the planet. It is the home of a variety of Imperial military support and repair facilities, as well as the location of the Nusiuu Docks Reserve Fleet.
Geographic Features
Absit is covered primarily in deep jungles. Small seas separate the four main landmasses, which themselves are bisected with high, craggy mountains. The majority of the Yatir species created their primary settlements in underground caverns, which appear throughout the planet, some of which are linked together creating huge underground corridors which are used as transportation hubs.

Government
With the removal of active Imperial military rule, the planet is organized in a federation between the Imperial authorities and the local Yatir people, who often remain living apart in their own communities.
Economy
As the Imperial presence on Absit is purely for facilities protection, little economic development exists except for infrastructure construction. The skills of the primary spaceport in fixing large military and convoy vessels, however, has made Absit an important waypoint for freighters and transports and a growing economy in starship repair and refurbishing had taken root. With it comes a marketplace involving regional trade goods, including local art by Yatirii sculptors and painters, as well as local raw materials, including hardwoods and some important mineral mining deposits.
Military
Since the Imperial occupation, Absit is under the protection of the Imperial military. A non-aligned task force of Naval and Army units protects both ground-side and orbital facilities. Local militias composed of both native Yatirii huntsmen and predominantly human settlers provide additional support personnel.

Fauna
While a variety of creatures call Absit home, the most well-known is the Hybride Hound. A therapsid (mammalian-looking reptile), the hound is nothing like a canine in all but appearance. It is a fast and aggressive hunter, often working in packs, and is very tough, with thick scales and protective muscle that makes it difficult to damage vital organs. With horns and razor-sharp teeth and claws, the hounds are smart predators.

History
Galactic Republic
Home to the Yatir for millenia, Absit was "discovered" and analyzed by Republic scouts around the year 1000 BBY. Initial scans did not find significant amounts of minerals to justify mining, and the planet's location was such that it was not deemed a primary colonization prospect.
Some traders would on occasion visit the world, but for the most part the Yatir were allowed to exist without interruption during this time.
Galactic Empire
During the Galactic Civil War, the Yatir were sympathetic to the Alliance to Restore the Republic due to some limited interaction with Rebellion agents searching for viable outpost locations. The Galactic Empire became aware of that sympathy and tried to suppress the humanoids, initially without full success. Ultimately, the Hell's Hammers, under the command of Colonel "Rancor" Johans, traveled to Absit and finally subjugated the Yatir.
Since this time, the planet has been subject to some modernization. Cities and spaceports were built, and the Nusiuu Docks Reserve Fleet complex was located near Absit as a strategic defense emplacement.
The advantages of galactic trade and a lighter hand in Imperial rule aided in relations between the Yatirii and their new neighbors. The removal of the Hell's Hammers because of their need elsewhere during the Galactic Civil War did much to calm the situation.
