Stormtrooper Corps Specialty Program[edit]

In order to properly fulfill your role as a stormtrooper, you need to choose an area of specialization. This allows you to interact with your squad and assist and support as best as you can. If your interests lie in saving lifes, become a combat medic. Want to become a slicer? Start out as a communications tech and move up to the slicer advanced level. Want to lay waste to New Republic forces? Become a heavy weapons specialist.

How do I pick a specialty?[edit]

First you choose a specialty and a subsidiary MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) for further definition. Training in time increments (by week) will be used to accomplish this learning process. For example, if you are a Vehicle Crewman and want to train on Walker-type vehicles, you will have to spend the time allotted for that training on non-competition/mission time. Granted it is not a perfect system. You have to research the training material, write a specialty story and get approved for the training, but you can immediately use what you know with your squad leader's permission.

What can I be?[edit]

We have two levels of specialties: basic and advanced. You start off, of course, with a basic specialty and become proficient at it. Once you have mastered that specialty you can either pick up a second one or move on to an advanced specialty.

The currently approved specialties are:

Basic Levels

Advanced Levels

How do I go advanced?[edit]

The advanced levels have a hierarchy from a basic to an advanced specialty. You can likely get an approval to transfer to an advanced specialty without following the path, but you may require remedial training to get a good foundation.

- Combat Engineer -> Sharpshooter or Scout

- Communications Technician -> Slicer

- Heavy Weapons Specialist -> Sharpshooter or Scout

- Vehicle Crewman -> Scout

- All Specialties -> Special Forces

Now what?[edit]

Just a few guidelines as we are working on the final rules to live by on this.

Each trooper requests a specialty to his/her squad leader, who then tries to adapt that to the overall squad mission. If you really want to do something that doesn't fit in with the squad mission, we will consider transfers on a case by case basis.

In each specialty, you will find different MOS designations. This is mostly geared to help you decide what to choose as advanced training courses (the basic skills are mandatory for the specialty). Each trooper can have one active Primary MOS. As time goes on, you can opt to dump that MOS in lieu of another one that better suits you. Also, after a certain length of time served, a trooper can opt to choose a Secondary MOS (which may or may not be in the same specialty as you can change those as well - though it won't be as easy).

Additional Resources[edit]

Now you have chosen a specialty. As we develop coursework for each specialty path, you would probably like some guidelines on how to train your character. This is the purpose behind the Specialty Sheets, which you can download from the following links for the appropriate specialty field.
