-General- The Vast Empire is a text-based online RPG set in Georgge Lucas's Star Wars Universe. We have been serving fans of the series since 1998, and offer many choices and chances for advancement. The Vast Empire has two main activities: writing storeis set in the Star Wars Universe and playing the games based on Lucas's visionary saga. We have chosen to focus our stoires on the dynamic Thrawn Era, and many of our plotlines involve the Imperial warlord's forces. In our timeline, it is a time of civil war in the galaxy, with war between the remenants of the once-mighty Galactic Empire and the newly-spawned "New Republic" born from the victorious Rebellion. Imperial holdouts are commonplace, and the Vast Empire is one of the more powerful ones, with several star systems under its control. From their capital planet of Tadeth, the leaders of the Empire are planning a campaign that will sweep through the galaxy and enable them to retake the crown jewel of the galaxy: Coruscant itself. It is this struggle that your character is involved in. He or she can join the Imperial Navy, flying the nimble TIE fighter and maybe even graduating to commanding a capital ship or leading a squadron. If that doesn't strike youre fancy, you could become a stormtrooper, the most visible sign of Imperial law and order, and bring peace to the galaxy one blaster bolt at a time. Some say that there are other professtions; some even whisper of Dark Jedi and lightsber-wielding, elite warriors. However, both the rumors and those who whisper them quickly vanish. Regardless of choice, the Vast Empire offers a myriad of choices and opportunities to meet other fans, and maybe even learn something new.

-Story Writing-

There are two main types of profession: the Imperial Navy and the Stormtrooper Corps. Both have different goals and methods of writing. If you join the Navy, you will start as a humble crewman and can work your way to the top and command a squadron of your fellow avaiators. Those that choose the Corps can gain rank and possibly even become Squad Leaders. There are rumors that some distinguished members of both branches found their way into a secret organization known as the Dark Jedi Order and reappeared much darker than before. Some even whisper of forbidden rituals, light-sabers, and power beyond imagination, but the whisperers often vanish and their stories are forgotten.

Regardless of affiliation, the Vast Empire offers a unique opportunity for gamers and fan fiction writers alike to meet other Star Wars fans and to expand their knowledge of a Galaxy Far Far Away...
