==================================[edit]

Personality: Darin is the dark and brooding type for the most part. While he didn't grow up friendless, he'd still prefer solitude to a life surrounded by people, which is why many find his decision to join the Imperial Army very strange, especially considering he refuses to answer this question for anyone. Although it takes an agonizingly long time to gain his trust, once you have it he's a fiercely loyal companion. He has a fierce hatred of stupidity.

==================================[edit]

Biography: Darin was born in Keren, Naboo in the year 1ABY. His parents were both avid supporters of the Imperium, and the peace it brought, and lived in constant fear of the rumored Rebel uprising on Naboo. Reports that the Alliance had wantonly destroyed the planet of Alderaan created widespread panic across the planet, though Darin's parents did their best to hide it, enrolling him in a public school when he was five years old. It quickly became apparent that he was one of the most intelligent students in his class, and for the time being, that didn't bother him at all. Indeed, it made him lots of friends. Or at least, people he thought were friends. When he was ten years old, just starting the fifth grade, Darin learned the truth of these 'friendships,' and quickly renounced them, drawing in on himself and becoming more or less a loner. He quickly developed an avid hatred for stupidity.

He now had far fewer friends. In fact, none would be the correct word. While he still preferred the company of himself to that of other, less intelligent people, this fact still caused him much grief, and he began to despise even his own intellect, drawing away from that gradually for two years. When he was in seventh grade, he was in constant trouble. Fights with other students, arguments with his teachers, as well as various and sundry other activities caused the young man to almost be expelled. It was here that he took up an interest in swordplay. He found that the hilt of a sword in his hand calmed him greatly, and allowed him to focus on the task at hand. Since he, for obvious reasons, could not take a blade to school, he devoted two hours of every day to practicing and perfecting his own method of swordplay, and added an extra half-hour for every event that occurred which angered him.

Within a year, he was no longer the angry, tempestuous youth he had been. He now struggled to regain what he though lost, his prized intellect. This would take another three years, when he decided, seemingly on a whim, to join the cross-country team of his school. It was an arduous and painful task, running miles at a time without stopping. At first he could barely run a half-mile at once, but quickly became encouraged by the progress of other, more experienced runners, and slowly over the season, his times improved, and with them, his self confidence soared. He was perfectly content, and it would not be for another year that he would be spurred to join the military.

He returned one day bearing his marks for the first grading period of his junior year, to see a strange speeder parked outside his home, with men in uniform approaching with blasters drawn. Immediately he dropped to the ground and crawled closer, an object sprawled on the ground catching his notice. It was not until he was four-hundred meters from it that he recognized as a corpse. Another two-hundred, and he recognized it as his father, with blaster wounds riddling the body. Darin was about to stand and creep closer when he heard his mother shouting from inside. Her screams were cut off by the sharp staccato of a blaster pistol's report, and at the same instant, one of the uniformed men came out of the door, and spotted the dumbstruck teen.

"There's the other one. Death to the Empire! Get him!"

Darin's first, and only impulse was to run. He dashed for the woods near his home where the speeder couldn't follow. Here he lived for two more years, feeding and living off the land, avoiding populated areas for fear that the uniformed men, he was certain they had been Rebels, would find him. When he was eighteen, he was a ragged young man, having been forced to bathe in the rivers and shave with sharp stones. It was then that he decided what he would do to have his revenge.

[Six Months Later]

The young recruit stepped casually out of the general's office, the datapad tucked safely in his left breast pocket. The recruiting center in Keren had been quick to shave and clean him six months prior, and ship him off to the academy on Coruscant, where he had received his first commission. He was to be assigned to the Drill team for thirty days, after which he would (hopefully) be assigned to a proper squadron. Darin's golden eyes burned for revenge against the Rebels who had murdered his parents. He glanced at the datapad one more time before setting about the required tasks.

Skills/Talents:

1) Swordplay - Ever since he was a small child Darin's had an avid interest in the intricacies of melee combat, strongly favoring the katana as a weapon. Over the years he's become a mostly self-taught swordsman. While this usually puts him at an immediate disadvantage to trained weapon-masters, it also gives him a unique style that is highly unpredictable and unorthodox.

2) Scouting - Having run cross-country when he was fifteen, Darin's become quite adept at terrain navigation, as well as having excellent stamina.
