Exam Ribbons
These awards recognised those who passed the now dis-continued system of VEN exams.
Basic Aviator’s Exam [BA],
Aviator’s Exam [A],
This was awarded upon completion of Flight School and tested very basic knowledge.
Senior Aviator’s Exam [SA],
This was sought at a member's discretion, and was often a requirement to be made a Flight Leader. It involved the testing of slightly more advanced topics to improve overall writing.
Minor Exams [ME],
This mid-level exams were sought at member's discretion and consisted of the Technical Exams and the Leadership Exams, and was often used informally to qualify someone for SXO.
Master Aviator’s Exam [MAE],
This was given through IRC at member's discretion and with approval from superior(s), and was used to qualify someone to be an SCO. It tested leadership and advanced knowledge.
