The Jannik-class Imperial Escort Cruiser is a capital ship class used by the Vast Empire. Originally designed for fleet escort duty, the class has gained notoriety as a multi-purpose vessel in more remote locations.

Characteristics

Jannik-class ships are heavily armed and fast capital vessels, with an array of weapons from heavy turbolasers to anti-capital ion cannon to anti-starfighter laser cannon and multi-purpose missile tubes. While not built with any starfighter hangars, many ships have been modified with starfighter clamps and docking tubes, allowing a squadron of TIEs to be assigned to each vessel.

History

The first Jannik vessels were deployed to the newly formed Fourteenth Fleet in late 10 ABY.
