Background[edit]

Founded by Freedon Nadd in 4400 BBY, House Kira has always ruled over Onderon. The power of the Royal House was challenged in 3951 BBY by General Vaklu during the 1st Onderonian Civil War. With the aide of a Jedi Exile, General Vaklu's forces were crushed, and House Kira remained in power.

A direct challenge of authority would not happen again until three years before the Clone Wars. Newly-crowned Queen of Onderon, Anora Kira's first order of business was the creation of the Onderonian Ruling Council, made up of 2 representatives from each district in Iziz (and later Nadd City on Dxun).

Anora had a daughter, Talia, 10 years before her taking of the throne. Talia would be taught by the most brilliant minds Onderon had to offer, so that she could be as an effective ruler as her mother was.

During the three years leading up to the Clone Wars, House Kira would switch from diplomacy to militarism. Queen Anora issued order after order for military technologies from the Republic, Kuat, Rendilli, and Fondor to build up a large military force, with which to protect Onderon from the growing Separatist threat.

Anora would lead her people through the Clone Wars, ensuring their survival and independence. After the war's end, this period of time would be considered the Onderonian Golden Age.

Talia Kira would get married to Dorn Tavers in 14 BBY, changing the fate of Onderon forever. Afterwards, the Tavers family was quickly adopted into the House Kira, merging the two.

Dorn Tavers would be killed in action in 9 ABY.

Anora's reign would last until 9 ABY, when she was assassinated by Imperialist soldiers.

The House of Kira was dissolved following her assassination. It was replaced by the House of Tavers, the true royal family of Onderon.
