Bio

Appearance

A female Mon Calamari, Kora is quite attractive by the standards of her species. She is of slightly more than normal height for a Calamarian female, with even-toned salmon colored skin and orange eyes. Her body is trim and athletic, with smooth and strong limbs. Her only real identifying marker is a three inch burn scar on her right bicep, the result of an extremely hot support beam striking her during the LCR Cerulean's collision with an enemy ship during the Battle of Epsilon.

Personality

Kora is, above all, a gentle person. She takes no pleasure in causing any harm to others, but finds joy in bringing healing. Kindness is, to her, perhaps the most important attribute a person can have. This attitude, however, does not mean that Kora is a weak person. Far from it, she is willing to step up and do what is necessary, even if that means endangering her own life. In personal interactions she tends to be quite friendly, if occasionally shy and only very rarely talkative. Very intelligent, she picks things up quickly and has a nearly photographic memory.

History

Born on Dac in 13 BBY, Kora lived near Coral City until the age of 10, when her parents were moved to Fondor by the Empire in order to serve as consultants to the shipbuilders there. Having always been curious about the galaxy at large, Kora overcame her sadness at the loss of her friends before long and began to look at the new world around her with wonder.

At the age of 14 Kora happened to observe a mugging as she walked home from school one day- a Bothan male suddenly jumping out of an alley and pulling a human woman in. Yelling to attract attention, Kora ran to the spot and looked down the alley. The woman lay on the ground bleeding, her clothing torn, as the Bothan fled down the alley. Running over to the woman, Kora knelt beside her and checked to make sure she was still breathing. She was, but Kora noticed a deep cut in the woman's arm that was pumping blood out at an alarming rate. Tearing her shirt, she tied it above the cut, tightening it as far as she could. Another strip of cloth from her shirt became a sop that she pressed against the woman's wounded limb.

Minutes later emergency services arrived and a medic in Imperial uniform accompanied by two medical droids approached. Arriving at the scene, he noted the young Calamarian girl doing her best to help the injured woman, then gently moved her aside so the droids could begin their triage. When he asked the girl if she knew the victim, he was surprised to find that she didn't. After hearing the full story, he complimented her on her quick thinking and gave her a few credits to replace the ripped and bloodied shirt with.

The incident sparked an intense interest in medicine and helping the injured in Kora, and she kept in touch with the kind medic as she continued through school. When she was of age, he helped her get into a medical school. It wasn't in the Empire proper, as no non-human could do such things there, but he did find a splinter-faction that was more than happy to take her in: the Vast Empire. And so Kora Weasse found herself at the Vast Empire Naval Academy, learning her trade.
