Kolcta developed by the Vratix of the Ashern faction, this was a derivative of bacta that was so powerful it made normal bacta seem as potent as a glass of lum in healing injuries. Kolcta was created from kolazhi, a plant that was genetical engineered by combining normal alazhi with the ancient medicinal plant called kolto. The kolazhi plant, with little refinement by the Vratix, created the kolcta. Kolcta was distinguished from normal bacta by its pungent smell, and was produced in very small quantities. It was believed that kolcta was powerful enough to repair a blaster wound to the head or to reattach severed limbs, if administered quickly enough. The main drawback to kolcta was that it could not be reused, as bacta could be. A single kolcta treatment dried out in five minutes or so, and had to be discarded. For this reason, and the fact that it was so potent, kolcta was impractical for fully immersing an individual.

Kolto this healing agent was harvested from the oceans of the planet Manaan more than 4,000 years before the Battle of Yavin. Because Manaan was the only known source of kolto, it was highly desired during the Great Sith War, making Manaan one of the most influential planets in the galaxy despite its relative insignificance. Millaflower native to the planet Naboo, this plant produces thousands of small, pink blossoms. The scent of these blossoms is so sweet and pure that it has been rumored to soothe even an angry rancor. Some perfumery owners kept fields of millaflowers in bloom for the scent, using it in the creation of specialized perfumes. Bouquets of millaflowers were considered wondrous gifts by both the Naboo and the Gungans. It was discovered that the flowers could be refined to extract the chemical which was responsible for its calming effect, and when refined and distilled it created a powerful tranquilizer.

Slick this viscous substance, which was essentially fermented seaweed oil produced on the planet Vaynai, had certain medicinal properties. When the seaweed from Vaynai's shallow oceans was pureed and allowed to ferment, it created an smily oil which stimulated tissue growth when applied to open wounds. When ingested, it helped to accelerate the body's own natural healing. When ingested in large amounts, or when taken as a recreational drug, slick caused a sort of euphoric delusion in the minds of most humanoid races. If improperly stored, slick had a slightly corrosive chemical structure that quickly ate away at plastoid containers, and could weaken most glass jars.

X-1 this was the codename given by Myk Bidlor to the poison used to kill Aruk the Hutt. Bidlor discovered that it was produced by the Malkite Poisoners, and was created from the stamen of a plant which grew on a planet known only to the Malkites. This made the drug prohibitively expensive, which led Durga to believe that clan Desilijic was behind its use. Large doses of X-1 were immediately fatal, but small doses create a dependence which can be deadly if the substance is withdrawn.

Xenoboric Acid a strong acid that, when concentrated, is extremely powerful. It has the strange property of reacting with the bodily fluids of many races, causing a build-up of gas inside the body. If not counteracted, the reaction causes the victim to literally explode.

Yurfloo this slow-acting poison was created by the scientists working for Hurn Jak. There was only one known antidote.

Vaccine[edit]

Alaswal-XT this anti-toxin was used to cure the effects of many standard, Imperial interrogation drugs, like Mangoriza.

Gas Binder developed during the last decades of the Old Republic, this medicinal fluid was used in the absence of gas masks or other breathing apparatus. When injected into the bloodstream, a gas binder could help rid the blood of a variety of toxins. Many medkits and field packs used by scouts and explorers contained a supply of gas binder.

Paravacc 1.X this parasite-repelling vaccine was developed by Uukaablian MedCorp. The vaccine is transported in a cylinder of polished metal. One end of the cylinder is placed against a victim's neck, and a stud at the other end injects the vaccine. When the effects wear off, the user experiences lethargy and listlessness. The spice also has a toxic effect on the user's metabolism, and withdrawal often results in death because the body can't react fast enough to the change. The Healer's Guild learned that carsunum spice could control and prevent the spread of hive viruses.

Collafa this natural spice was used by poisoners, since its chemical make-up altered when it came into contact with certain cooking oils. The resulting elements could cause mental instability in human eaters.

All kassoti mining was controlled by the Naboo Moon Mining Union.

Kobala this was a form of spice that was mined on the moon of Rori, during the height of the New Order.

Kor this is the rarest, and purest, form of ryll spice produced on Ryloth. It makes up only three percent of the total ryll production, and virtually none of it leaves the planet. It was discovered that kor ryll had certain medicinal properties. Kor ryll absorbs light in the ultraviolet range, and appears black under normal lighting. It can be distinguished from colored, less pure ryll under ultraviolet lighting. Petrified forms of kor, useless as a source of spice, were often carved into various shapes and sold as works of art.

Lumni-spice the rarest form of spice in the galaxy, it is found only on Hoth, deep in the caves of the dragon-slug. The combination of Hoth's environment and the presence of the dragon-slug make lumni-spice difficult to harvest and expensive to purchase.

Magravian Cat-spice this was a form of Magravian spice.

Magravian Spice this form of spice was known for its ability to temporarily sharpen a being's reflexes.

Narco-spice a highly-addictive form of spice which found widespread use in the Minos Cluster.

Another kind of spice is called ryll, and is mined on Ryloth. Both have medicinal value as well as their recreational purposes. Ryll is a very dangerous form of spice.

Tempest this was a form of spice developed on Nar Shaddaa and produced on Varl by the Hutts. Purple in color, it was noted for the way it provided a user with increased willpower and physical strength, but these enhancements came at a heavy price. Habitual users experienced a loss of self-control and sanity, and many died from the addiction. The addictive properties of tempest were stronger even than those of glitterstim, andris, or carsunum, and a single use was often all that was needed to form an addiction. Upon ingesting tempest, a user experienced a sensation not unlike having hot knives driven into the brain, which released a torrent of pleasurable emotions. In many cases, this was following a period in which the user felt invulnerable, and often went into a murderous rage to prove it. Death Stick this recreational drug was popular on Coruscant, during the years leading up to the Clone Wars. It was essentially a treated form of Ixetal cilona, which could be hardened into a cylinder or liquified and stored in a long vial. Both forms gave rise to the monicker 'death stick.' The liquid form was often consumed by mixing it with softdrinks, and was virtually undetectable in this form. The drug inside the multi-colored cylinders provided the user with a heightened sense of euphoria, but continued use of the drug stole years from a being's life. This continued usage led to an intense addiction, and most abusers reported needed a harder and harder dosage in order to simply exist.

Dontworry an illegal hallucinogenic drug.

Drovian Zwil this potent, highly-addictive form of the cake-flavoring known as zwil, was created by the inhabitants of Nim Drovis. The Drovians were one of the few races which experienced addictive reactions to the "harmless" zwil produced on Algara II, and developed this form to enhance their narcotic experiences.

The drug has a number of properties. It can eliminate the need for sleep in humans, as well as extending their lifespan by one-third. It also doesn't affect the human brain, so the hallucinations and delusions that result from other drugs is avoided. However, the drug makes its addicts very mechanical and amoral. They act without emotion, and don't have any care as to the consequences of their actions.

Nkllonian Lava Extract this illegal drug was named for its color, which many thought looked as if it had been taken directly from the molten rock of the planet Nkllon. It was one of many illegal substances that appeared in the underworld of Coruscant during the last years of the Old Republic.

Pyrepenol this drug is often used by addicts and other abusers. It often helps make the user feel invincible, ready to take on the very Fates that control his or her life.

Savorium this herb was discovered by Klorr Vilia about ten years before the Battle of Yavin. Vilia was looking to create an herb that would appeal to a wide variety of species and pallettes. What he created was a large, tree-like plant with leaves which, when consumed, produce the illusion of rapture. Vilia became the first victim of the plant's effects when he used it to prove that he had created the wide-appeal herb he had set out to create. Vilia was suddenly locked in a blissful state, and his colleague, Zorneth, was struck with the realization that savorium, in the wrong hands, could be used as a devastating weapon. The users of the drug, known as Smilers, are locked in a perpetual state of bliss, and often require protection. Zorneth created the Caretaker virus to covertly use droids to protect them.

Survapierre this drug was outlawed for recreational use, during the decades prior to the Battle of Naboo. It still had a variety of medicinal uses, so survapierre was never completely banned. A small but lucrative trade in smuggled survapierre sprang up to supply recreational users and abusers with the drug.

Thionarx an illegal substance sold in the Corporate Sector.

Waste-It this form of narcotic drug was available in the form of sticks.

Werrjuice an extremely potent narcotic.

Yarrock an addictive, hallucinogenic drug.

Zone of Self-Containment this drug caused almost immediate unconsciousness when breathed by most humans and humanoid races. The drug was a liquid that was colorless and odorless, so it could be administered to prisoners without their knowledge when they were brought into a facility and bathed or given a drink of water. The drug acted quickly, putting victims to sleep and altering their mental conditions. Upon waking, victims found that anything that was bothering them no longer seemed to matter. Everything was right with the world, and any urge to fight against the things that bothered them was swept away and replaced with a sense of calm and peace. One interesting side effect of the Zone of Self-Containment was that the drug limited a Force-sensitive being unable to commune with the Force on any but the most basic levels.

Interrogation Drugs[edit]

Bavo Six this truth serum was developed decades before the battle of Yavin, but was one of the primary sera used by the Empire in its IT-0 interrogation droids. It was usually administered with a greatly-enlarged needle, to increase the fear of the prison and make the serum work better and faster. It was a compound of regvis and bospridium, with trace elements in the composition R7Bo3Kr2. It induced paranoia and visual exaggeration, causing the victim to become afraid of everything.

Black Hole a highly-hallucinogenic drug used by Emperor Palpatine to discover the fears of alien races.

Loquasin this Imperial drug was developed to compel a being to talk during interrogation. It attacked the centers of the brain which provided stamina and willpower to resist, leaving the victim defenseless.

Lotiramine this substance is often used by crimelords to keep their subordinates from revealing too much information if arrested or captured. By itself, lotiramine is harmless. However, when it interacts with certain interrogation drugs, such as skirtopanol, the combination induces chemical amnesia. If too much of one or the other is taken or administered, the prisoner can die of the chemical interaction, which can take the form of severe convulsions or internal hemorraging.

Mangoriza this was one of many Imperial-developed chemicals used for the interrogation and subduction of prisoners.

OV600 this truth serum, created by 'Geneering Products, detects the physical symptoms of a lie and reacts to them. OV600 causes the victim's flesh to break out in a painful rash. If the lies are strong enough, the drug has the capabability to induce so much pain that the victim dies.

Regvis this element is a key component of the truth serum Bavo Six.

Skirtopanol a drug which is used to reduce a prisoner's resistance to any interrogation. When it reacts with the drug lotiramine, it causes chemical amnesia and, sometimes, death in the prisoner.

Themfar this was a potent neurotoxin developed during the height of the New Order.

Titroxinate this was one of the most potent neurotoxins in existence during the height of the Clone Wars.

Techniques[edit]

Bacta Purge a medical procedure in which a person's entire body is flooded with bacta internally. While a bacta tank allows external access to the bacta agents, a bacta purge givens them direct access to lungs and other vital organs. It is a last-resort treatment, since it can do more harm than good if improperly administered.

Narco-interrogation this multi-level form of prisoner interrogation involves the use of certain drugs (like skirtopanol) and torture to extract information electronically. There are four levels of narco-interrogation. Level Four is the lowest level of interrogation, and involves intense questioning with the use of large amounts of skirtopanol. Level One interrogations are extremely intense, and are designed to extract information that has been purposely buried or forgotten, and often uncovers certain genetic memories.

Psycho-probe this was the term used to describe a method of Imperial interrogation, in which a subject was drugged and held captive under the ministrations of an IT-series droid. Using mind-altering drugs, the subject was virtually powerless to keep their secrets hidden.

Rejuvenation Therapy developed during the New Order and popular during the early years of the New Republic, this form of non-essential medical treatment allowed certain individuals to tone their bodies, both mentally and physically, making them appear younger.
