(I'm just going to post some pirate tactics that you may be interested in.)

Playing Chicken

This is usually between two pirates since an Imperial or New Republic fighter would just start shooting. This is where two fighters are coming at each other in opposite dirrections and the two line up to do the maneuver. The pilots go strait for the opposing fighter as steady as they can to make the enemy pilot think that they will colide and pull out to save their butt. You then pull in behind them and tail your opponent. When both pilots know that they are playing chicken, the object is to stay steady to show them that you have no intentions of pulling out. The winner is the one who makes the other pilot break the aproach.

Rolling Chicken

Same as playing chicken but one of the pilots is firing at the aproaching fighter. The pilot taking fire would then perform a continuous barrol role and spiral around the opposing fighters line of fire. The opponent must either adjust the vertical or horizontal angle of the ship to place his line of fire over the spiraling fighter's path. This places the fighter off balance and out of line. The spiralling fighter then takes advantage of the course correcting pilot and opens fire.

Fried Chicken

This is the same as playing chicken but both fighters are firing at each other in an attempt to destroy the other before other can pull out. It is not safe nor wise to partake in this maneuver. Iave placed it here so that you know how to deal with it. The safest way to defend against this is to continue toward the enemy while swiveling your craft from left to right and back in a pendulam like motion until you get a missile lock.

Rolling Fried Chicken

Same as above but both crafts are performing a roling chicken and firing. The only way to defend is to be a better shot than your opponent.

Spiral Theory

The theory that a ship that is barral rolling is harder to shoot than a ship that is not. It also states that it is easier to shoot a target while barral rolling because your fire covers a larger area.

Feinted Break

Peformed when being followed very closely by enemy. The defender rolls to his craft so that the cockpit is facing what was his right side. Defender then pulls up into a turn. The attacker does the same. The defender then rolls right until his craft id facing the opposite direction and is now in a left bound turn.

Feinted Switch

Same as above but after the defender completes the break, he cotinues the left turn until he is behind what used to be the attacker.

Space Paint Theory

States that without radars, a black ship with stars painted on it is camoflauged. Not very effective.

Rolling 180

Hold the fightstick in the lower right hand corner while using the yokes to direct the craft right. As the craft goes upsidedown, pull the flight stick straight back and you will go into a rolling 180 degree flip/turn.
