Biography[edit]

17 BBY - 8 ABY[edit]

Saul Aquila was born on Corulag, in the capital city of Curamelle, in the year 17 BBY to a middle class family. His father was a freelance pilot, who specialized in the escort of transports to nearby systems. The family had very pro-imperial viewpoints, as many people on the planet did. Saul spent the earlier years of his life as many children in the city did, being educated so that he may have a fulfilling life. It was not until he was thirteen years old, that he has any real idea of what he wanted to do as an adult. 4 BBY, Imperial forces attempting to restore the law and peace to Nar Shaddaa were attacked and defeated by a smuggler fleet. The battle was a point that began to shape his personal views. He began to follow the news bulletins on the Holonet regarding conflicts with the Galactic Empire. By the age of fifteen, he had transferred schools to a non-enlisted variant of the Imperial Academy.

At the Academy, he was taught the started in the basics, fighter mechanics and tactics. From there the lessons were split, dependent on the select classes the students chose to take. Saul chose to specialize in communications and tactics. Following his selection of classes, he read a Holonet report that many system and Imperial senators had signed what they called the “Declaration of Rebellion”, and that they vowed to overthrow the Empire. Days later, he received a message from his parents. It stated that his father had joined the Imperial Navy as a fighter pilot. He was inspired even more to reach his goals. He began to climb the ranks at the Academy he was at, and excelled at many of the studies that he took. This earned him the nickname of “Summit”, as it was said he was always climbing a mountain. During his final year at the academy, the news was all across the galaxy, the Imperial Senate had been dissolved due to a state of emergency, caused by the rebellion. He had had it; he was applying for the Imperial Academy. He sent in his application, and heard back very quickly; he was accepted into the Academy. He graduated from his Junior Academy, and packed his belongings, and headed for the Imperial Academy of Corulag. During this transfer time, he heard the news of the Battle at Yavin, and the destruction of the Imperial battle station. This only pushed him to get through the academy and into service.

He was very excited to be going to the Imperial Academy, though the excitement was short lived. When he arrived, following the opening ceremony, he was summoned to appear before the administrator of his Academy class. This was where he was given terrible news. His father was dispatched to the Ison corridor, and along with his squadron was tasked with halting the Rebel transports. His father, an interceptor pilot, shot down four rebel pilots and earned a battle commendation. The administrator continued, and informed Saul that his father was shot down by an A-Wing pilot prior to the Rebel escape from the system. He was then informed that his mother took a transport to claim his father's belongings at an imperial outpost, but the transport never arrived. She was listed as Missing, and presumed dead. He was stunned; he did not know what to even say as the administrator gave him his father’s commendation.

Over the years to follow, he grew very close to his Academy flight, that he was placed in the year 1 ABY at the age of nineteen. It consisted of four pilots; Roger Panel, a human farmer, Daniel Xacto, a Human freighter crewman, and Amanda Clark, a Human upper-class citizen of Courlag. Their trainer, who acted as flight leader, changed often; the flight never really got to know any one particular trainer. They progressed together at similar rates, and eventually made it to their senior year at academy’s graduate program. The year was 4 After the Battle of Yavin, one of the final massive defeats of the Galactic Empire occurred, the Battle of Endor. All pilots were accelerated though their studies and many were placed in specialized and secretive programs. Saul graduated with his flight, and then disappeared off the grid. He vanished and laid low for a few years, for reasons he kept to himself. If he would have gone into the Imperial Navy, he would have been a Commissioned Officer, though he chose not to. He went freelance and spent time reflecting on his life and actions. Though, all changed for him again in 7 ABY, at the age of twenty-five, he was found by and Imperial officer, and one of his old Academy friends. Lieutenant Amanda Clark discovered him and knew he was a wanted man. He failed to enter the Imperial Navy as per the conditions of the Academy. Though, she did not report him to her superior. They spent a few hours catching up on their lives, and he heard from her how things had changed in the last few years with the Empire. He heard firsthand about the splitting of the factions of the Empire. When she left to return to her post, he decided to return to the Empire. He looked up the nearest faction to his present location, and saw two major factions. The Imperial Remnant and the Vast Empire. He figured, as the Vast Empire did not have the records of the Corulag academy, he would not be punished for not going into the Imperial Navy. So at the age of Twenty-six, in the year 8 ABY, Saul “Summit” Aquila enlisted in the Vast Empire Imperial Navy.

8 ABY - Present[edit]

Following his first mission with the Vast Empire Imperial Navy, Saul received notice that charges were filled from the Imperial Remnant; his past had caught up with him. He received the notice from the advocate assigned to his case, Lieutenant Norberg. She informed him of the charges and began to search for information on the subject.
