Character’s Background: Thadd Garazon was discovered by the Dark Jedi Drask aboard the ISD Devour some years prior to the battle of Yavin. Lord Drask was investigating an unknown energy source in the “Open Sea” sector of the wild space regions when he discovered Thadd in an isolation pod floating just outside that energy source. Thadd was brought aboard and the markings inside the pod revealed that he was a survivor to a a genocidal civil war that destroyed a planet many millenniums ago. He was perfectly preserved for an unknown amount time in the pod and was in above average physical health. Lord Drask offered him the chance of learning more about his past if he offered his loyalty in service to the Empire. Thadd Garazon agreed and was assigned as a personal body guard to Lord Drask. Thadd’s time as Lord Drask’s slave was harsh and he was used as his personal assassin to eliminate anyone he considered a threat, many times officials within the Imperial court. If Drask felt he failed him he was usually punished severely for his “disobedience.” In one of his missions he was attacked by his supposed target, an Imperial Intel Agent, and was injured in an explosion in a shuttle bay. This left nearly half of his body destroyed. The Emperor caught wind of Drask’s exploits and frowned down upon the Dark Jedi’s fringe activities. He offered to wipe Drask’s slate clean if he would be allowed experiment on Thadd using cybernetic prosthetics to rebuild him. The experiments were successful if not extremely painful and enhanced his natural abilities and significaly increased his strength. Thadd continued in his service to the Empire. A couple of months before the battle of Endor Drask sent Thadd to destroy a freighter convoy that was supposedly transporting Political allies to the Rebel Alliance. When inspecting the freighter’s contents he discovered that they were actually civilian ships carrying mostly families. Thadd was in reality sent to execute a death grudge by Drask. Thadd, finally sickened by the Dark Jedi’s abuse of power, returned to the Imperial Destroyer with his mission unaccomplished. Drask confronted Thadd and this time Thadd fought back. After almost overpowering the Dark Jedi, Thadd was immobilized by a final force lightning strike. The Emperor again was informed of Drask’s unauthorized missions. The Emperor decided to take care of this insane Dark Jedi and his “pet” personally. The Emperor executed the Dark Jedi while inspecting the ISD Devour. In punishment for Thadd’s “treason” against the Dark Jedi, Thadd was jettisoned from the destroyer to an uninhabited moon in a nearby system. One month later the Emperor was dead. Thadd had been in exile on the moon for nearly 10 years before he was found by a Vast Empire reconnaissance team. They followed a weak beacon that Thadd had constructed from spare parts and old ship wreckages. He was updated of the last 10 years and was explained what the Empire’s current condition was. Thadd still held the view that the Empire, maybe not the form that Emperor Palpatine held to, was what was needed to restore order in the galaxy and bring about stability. He was allowed to join the Vast Empire navy as a star fighter pilot. And so his journey with the Vast Empire began.
