Current Status

Member world, Atoran Hegemony

Vuma is a planet located near the Corellian Run and is a recent addition to the Atoran Hegemony. Known primarily for its natural resources, Vuma is a key producer of carvanium, desh, neuranium, and has plentiful but difficult-to-access reserves of aurodium. Currently ruled by an Atoran-appointed governor, Vuma was once a parliamentary monarchy, with power split between the ruling Olstaad clan and an elected legislature.

Geographic Features
Vuma is a heavily forested world and was late to develop in comparison with other planets in the Core. Initial settlers had to contend with the light gravity and slightly lower than average oxygen levels. This led to the large scale use of droid labor, a practice aided by the plentiful mineral wealth that allowed for a local droid industry to develop without much offworld investment.
Demographics
Population has always been slight for a planet near the center of the Galaxy. Much of the citizenry lives in small towns or mining communities and participate in light industry or resource mining and production.
