Senior Chief Petty Officer

Overview

Rate for members who have stayed active and have continued to consistently contribute to the well-being of their unit and the division. This is generally the lowest rate at which members will start to be considered for mid-level leadership positions (Squadron Executive Officer in the Starfighter Corps, or Executive Officer of a Crew Section in Fleet Command). In conversation, members who hold this rate are addressed as "Chief Petty Officer" or "Chief."

Any member holding the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer ranks directly above a Chief Petty Officer and directly below a Master Chief Petty Officer.
