Biography[edit]

Appearance[edit]

Though having served in the military, VE or otherwise, for almost half his life now, Solomon Dredd neither looks nor acts as a soldier. He's lean and athletic as one would expect but that's pretty much where all expectations come to a sudden stop. Rather than a standard military haircut, the man actually lets his hair grow a fair amount. He's also usually seen sporting a light beard - an indication that he's not overly concerned with how he looks or is perceived by others...

Personality[edit]

Friendly and easygoing, it's hard to believe the man has actually served in the military for so many years already. He knows and even follows the protocol - most of the time - but off duty he reveals a completely different side to him.

He is careful and pays attention to details, being the sort of man to double and triple check something in order to ensure that it is working the way it is supposed to.

The man is also very patient, recognizing the importance of waiting for that one perfect shot that would maybe be enough to change the course of an entire naval battle.

History[edit]

Although the man was born within Vast Imperial space, Solomon Dredd chose not to stick around. Soon after turning eighteen, the fellow joined a freighter's crew and made for the larger galaxy. A pirate encounter made him decide to join the Navy, though since he was no longer in the Vast Empire, the man instead joined with a different Remnant faction. During his service there,he made gunner on a CR90 corvette - a position that he would not keep for long though...

As was the case with many other Imperial factions still fighting one another and vying for complete control, the faction that Solomon joined also suffered a similar fate, ending up integrated in a larger and stronger Remnant organization. The man did not particularly care at the time though, and he continued serving, managing to rise through the ranks as he did so.

It was when this new faction became too engrossed in its anti-alien policy that Solomon felt he should get out whilst he still was able to. He may not have sympathized with the other alien species but at the same time he also did not really have anything against them either.

The man tried resigning through regular channels but his applications ended up rejected all three times. He would've attempted to desert had he not also required to take his pregnant wife with him. In the end he finally used a few contacts from back home to ask for help. The ones that came to his rescue where none others than the Vast Empire's spooks, a small band of men and women who managed to not only exfiltrate him and his wife but also gather some important data in the process as well.

Having returned to Vast Empire space, and after a rigorous debriefing by VENI, Solomon Dredd was allowed to join the VEN, in a similar position to the one he had previously held. In only two and a half years the man had proven himself so reliable that he was promoted to Master Gunner of a Victory-class Star Destroyer - a position the man would've still held had one of the agents that helped him out in the past not approached him with a different offer, one involving a smaller ship...
