We are already dead. It's just a matter of how many we take with us.

—The Saints' Motto.

"I remember that myself, in the early days. But we Saints are war-weary. When I said we're immune to the touch of death, I meant we just don't feel its bite any more. No sense of grief, no loss, no regret, no sadness. Just an inevitability. When a Saint dies, we put on our dress white and our ridiculous numbers of medals and we get filthy drunk. We rage, we sing, we drink some more. We do it to show fate, or the Force, or whatever else lurks out in the dark, that we don't care."
–Kal 'Seeker' Jaego, founder and leader of The Saints.

Squadron Description[edit]

"The distinctive grey and white pilot's uniform of the 128th."

The 128th Imperial Interceptor Squadron was originally one of the best Starfighter Squadrons in the Galactic Empire, led by Kasan Moor. After her defection to the Rebel Alliance, the Squadron's Executive Officer, Kal 'Seeker' Jaego, took charge, and tried to shake the stigma of apparent disloyalty that followed the Squadron. He has maintained their reputation for excellence and rebuilt them as an intensely loyal, if jaded, Ace Squadron. After serving in the Battle of Endor, it returned to the ISD Virulent, which would become one of the flagships of the Imperial Dominion remnant faction.

They have since established them as an elite unit, on a similar level to Rogue Squadron of the New Republic and the 181st Squadron of Grand Admiral Thrawn's forces, and are without a doubt the finest Starfighter Squadron in the Imperial Dominion. The Saints are revered amongst the Dominion, and rightly feared by its enemies - master dogfighters, they are capable of tearing an opposing Wing apart within minutes. They have not yet seen battle against the Vast Empire, held in reserve as a secret weapon to unleash on the Vast Empire when they feel at their most confident.

A little known fact about the Saints is that they are extremely jaded people, with the lowest morale of any Squadron in the Imperial Dominion. They value neither their own lives nor those of the enemy. They even dismiss their own astonishing skill as nothing more than a lucky streak that they know in their hearts will eventually run out, and consider friendships and attachments within the Squadron to be a waste of time.

Squadron Specialization[edit]

The Saints are an infamous Ace unit that specialises purely in air superiority: They are highly skilled in the art of eliminating enemy fighter and bomber craft, and are highly aggressive, relying on the superior speed and agility of their highly-tuned fighters and their overcharged laser cannons to allow them to eliminate a foe before they have a chance to counter-attack. So far, their methods have proven shockingly effective.

They appear to completely disregard their own casualties in battle, and if faced with an option of saving a wingmate or destroying a foe, will take the more aggressive option every single time. This is perhaps a weakness that could be exploited - if any fighters survived long enough to actually mount an effective counterstrike against them. They have never been noted to use either shield generators nor missile weaponry of any kind.

Equipment[edit]

"The grey paint-scheme of a Saints Interceptor (Right), compared to a Vast Empire Interceptor (Left)."
Although The Saints rated issue with TIE Defenders years ago, they refuse to use the 12 TIE/D Defenders assigned to them, and twelve of the most advanced starfighters in the galaxy are currently gathering dust in their hangar bay. Distinctly old-fashioned in their thinking, the Saints disdain shields as a crutch for weak pilots who don't know how to evade opponents properly (and besides, not using shields is an amusing way of goading death on), and they consider missile weaponry to be taking all of the challenge and fun out of a battle. As a result, they continue to make use of TIE/In Interceptors.

Although they are using an 'outdated' craft, the TIE Interceptors of the Saints are highly tuned and upgraded for speed and agility, making them far more agile than even the standard-production Interceptor and putting their speed on par with the TIE/ad Avenger, and their laser weaponry has also been fine-tuned and modified, making them significantly more dangerous than the standard-issue model. The Saints take a perverse glee in engaging more advanced fighters than their own, considering it the only true challenge of their skills.
