Training Officers

Name: Ryncho Denar

Callsign: Desus One

Nick Names: Nicko, Change

Age: 38

Height: 5 feet, 10 1/2 inches

Weight: 165 lbs ( ounces)

Eyes: Clean Green

Hair: Long, dark brown hair with only a sharp gottee for facial hair

Homeworld: Cepany

Skin: Fair, light tan

Rank: Line Captain (LCAP)

Position: Desus Training Squadron Commander (SC)

Training Style: Improvosational, patient and aggressive

Imperial File: Recruited from Cepany, excelled in flight geometry and was second in his graduating class. During training, was said to be one of the most talented and understanding individuals the VEN had ever seen, inventing manuevers like the Ryvair Suicide and "Cepany Slide." These are highly reguarded manuevers because they involve high-speed controlling that almost always results in death but show an utmost respect and admiration for the Navy. They are not very conventional, but they do demand loyalty and honing, so they are recognized as an acceptable manuever in the Navy. After his training, Denar was put in Chase Squadron where he became flight lead and eventually executive officer under Winmen Harpet or Corellia.

After Harpet's death at the battle of Derude, the squadron was sent in different directions and Denar was sent to command the newly formed 'Omic Squadron.' He only had seven other people in his squadron at a time and it is the VEN's beleif they were succesful for that reason.

Omic Squadron was a close-support team during planetary offensives and were renowned for their kill rate and records, Denar himself acheiving over two-hundred by the end of his career. This is incredible, but not as substantial to the VEN because they were planetary fighters and obviously unskilled pilots in a last attempt to save their planets, so his record is thought to be deceiving at best.

The VEN beleives Ryncho Denar decided to go on extended leave because of his lack of recognition in the realm of officers. After a year and a half, Rycho Denar returned to active duty with his new wife at his side, but made a deal with the Vast Empire Naval Academy (VENA) to command a small squadron of students if he were to receive the rank of Line Captain.

Medals:

LoM,"The Captain's Own",CBV,LSM,VC:E,DSM,NDM

Notable Students: Warren Dimmias, Sarah Proviciar, ReClishe' Teeyet

Physical Desription: Semi-tall, but intimidating none the less with his green eyes. He is a pretty good looking guy, but a lot of people are afraid that he'll just snap on them for some reason, whether it be because of his record or his sharp features. He has a slight muscular build, nothing to remarkable, but he's said to be in good shape and likes to run.

Emotional Description:

Ryncho Denar is extremely kind and likes to laugh, but he is a very, very political person. If you get him started, he will talk down about the VEN as much as up- he feels extremelly cheated by the VEN for their lack of commendation after his record two-hundred kills and even irritated when people talk about his medals; he finds them insulting. When he received the Long Service Medal in the mail he sent it back, only to be receive it by an automated machine again; he thinks that the one medal he needs to be satsified is the Iron Cross: 1st class. It is the reason he decided to go to training rather than stay in meaningless combat that awarded him nothing and only put him in danger. His family is notable when speaking about his attitude and personality, because they are the pivotal point of it. When he went on his year and a half leave, he met his wife Victoria and couldn't stop talking to her about his frustrations. He has total trust and beleif in his wife so he won't take her being insulted whatsoever; more than a few people have left his squadron after speaking about his wife. He has no children, but can't wait to have them, so this further corroberates his decision to stay out of battle... While he is a little unhappy about never getting to shoot down another fighter, he is glad that he's making a difference to pilots and he can still get his creativity inbedded somewhere.

Personality:

He is extremely compassionate to his people and beleives in all of them, wanting only to help. When you think of him during training though, think of him like a Driver's Ed teacher who won't hit the break on his side of the car for anything, determined to let you have your own accidents and experiences so you can become a truly great pilot. His main focus during training is on patience and striking time rather than control of the craft and expert manuevering; he simply beleives that these will come about through split second decisions to attack or continue to wait. He is extremely trustworthy and is often referred to as 'a great Imp...' However, you don't want to get on his bad side- you will stay on it.

Name: Comprey Courtney

Callsign: Lason One

Nick Names: Comp, Kurt, Jowdow

Age: 29

Height: 5 feet, 11 inches

Weight: 178 lbs ( ounces)

Eyes: Steel Blue

Hair: Short, bright white, cut in an intelligent style

Skin: Rough, dark tan

Homeworld: Ryus II

Rank: First Lieutenant(1LT)

Position: Lason Training Squadron Commander (SC)

Training Style: Technique driven, calm and very precise

Imperial File: Born on the distant moon of Ryus II, Courtney's family moved to the native world that the moon revolved around- Chistel. His father has been missing for fifteen years, but whats known about Courtney's parents is that they both lived on Coruscant before Imperial Rule began, and when the Emperor took over, they fled with a group of researchers looking for inhabitable planets. They hadn't known that's what they were doing, but its how they met and eventually had Courtney.

Ryus II, a moon that might as well have been an asteroid with space stations on it, seemed unsuitable for their new life with Courtney, so they moved to nearby planet Chistel. On Chistel, Courtney grew up without moving once, ironic considering the hundreds of moves his parents had earlier on. Chistel had only a few laws, but they were defenite if you wanted to live in their perfect society; most fell under the code of Chistel Utopia- a guide to living well on Chistel. So really, they were more like unwritten laws that were expected to be followed, like naming your first born with a 'C' for the planet Chistel.

As a member of the Chistel Society, Comprey Courtney received the best education in mathmatics and science and lived happilly with his parents for a long time. At the age of thirteen, Courtney's father went back to Ryus II for an analysis of the atmosphere after severe tampering to make it inhabitable. He made it to Ryus II and back off, but when he went around the planet to make faster time, he disappeared off the radar and a search party was sent out only to find nothing. There was evidence of a jump, but the tragectory could not be traced and Courtney's father was never seen again. Courtney does not know, but his father was actually captured by an Imperial picket-ship roming the unknown regions when it spotted his craft and took him aboard. To this day, Courtney's father is in a prison on a remote planet awaiting a trial that will probably never happen.

As for Courtney, he beleived it to be a stealth attack and capture by pirates and used his knowledge of science and math to develope an advanced network of radar contacts surrounding Chistel space after being recruited into the government's Scientific Minds program and excelling relentlessly. At about this time, the Vast Empire Navy was making contact with the beautiful, green planet after being spotted by the same picket-ship that picked up Courtney's father. After negotiations, the Vast Empire acheived a trade route and set up a complimentory mining program on Ryus II for mediocre ores used to build fighter heat expulsion grills- these would be used on the TIE Fighters after Seinar Systems had its way with the planet and several others. Once the Vast Empire began to show up more and more in the system, they began to take an interest in the youth of Chistel to find it highly educated and valuable to the Imperials. While the Chistel government was intent on trade with the VE, it did not want to give up its children. So, the VE made a deal with them to only take a set amount of children a year, about fifty- very reasonable considering they were originally asking for thousands. Chistel agreed and eventually gave up Courtney along with hundreds of other children over the years; he was basically on the top of the wanted list. Teresa had a fit, but she got over it when she learned he would be taken care of by a senator's family and would be receiving the best education there was. It was half-true; Courtney did receive an incredible education but only because he had nothing else to do. The senator family he was supposed to be living with was actually never there and hadn't bothered to put him in school or sign out any of his papers for enrollment or anything really...

Courtney was living in the Vectra system and by this time he knew the VE better than its inhabitants. For the next five years of his life, he would spend his time going from planet to planet on public ferries with a card allowing him to enter any imperial society school without question. If he got tired of a school, he'd go to another one... After contast moving, Courtney began to learn his star systems and ports very well, even meeting up with some experienced pilots from time to time to hear their stories as well as tips and secrets. Although his record was a bit scrappy, it was certainly sufficient enough to get him into the Vast Empire University of Tactical Knowledge- better known as VETUK. After two more years of exceptional schooling, (he was able to fly through because of previous knowledge of his studies), he decided to join the Vast Empire Navy. This was a decision based off of the information he'd been given by pilots; most of them said the best way to live is with a corporation like the VE that were only an offshoot of the Empire.

The Academy provided him with little new knowledge as he was now well versed in the ways of tactics, geometry and science, but it did present a new way he could use his smarts. Instead of just knowing things, he could use them... This would come up later.

He wasn't a natural flyer necessarilly, but he was good enough right from the start to make his commanders very interested; all that time he'd spent with starpilots and random simulators had certainly helped. Once he graduated at the top of his class, Courtney rose through the ranks very quickly, got out of active duty and became a tactical officer for Pheonix Wing when he thought battle would no longer satisfy his taste for a challenge. After years of isolation, he'd become a little obsessive and his new position only empowered this compulsion. Courtney had become a tactics guru... It controlled his life- his every high and low dependant on it. Courtney worked furiously, coming up with plans for battles that hadn't even been thought of yet and leading him to a life of eccentricity. When his life was obviously getting out of his own control and he appeared to be losing his mind, his commanding officer became worried and thought the best thing to do was to move him to a new area so he could clear his head. He was relegated to a new type of challenge- training. While he wasn't necessarilly unhappy with his move, he was angry that the commanders never decided to consider his work after he'd finished it; his combined work must have taken years, but he would never show it to anyone after being embarressed like that.

After being given a position as a tactical trainer, Courtney became hell-bent to get his tactics embedded into the minds of his pilots; the commanders didn't seem to mind his obsession this time, seeings how it could only benefit them. His ability to make his pilots wonder about possible situations made them remarkable. Through his methods, they could feel out problems before they ever occured. His style of flying was also extremely unique- he was textbook. Most tactical officer's had a style or atleast wavered pretty heavilly in areas like flight control, but not Courtney. Sure, you could say there are plenty of bad commanders who'd decided to stick to the book as well, but still- not as well as Courtney had done it. Courtney is said to be obsessed with technique and control; he fuses his knowledge of tactics and science together to give his pilots an edge of the unknown. He doesn't need to outfly his opponets, although he can; he simply out smarts them to give himself an easy advantage.

Medals:

LoM,CBV,VC:G,DSM

Notable Students: Shazam Money, Joshua Matel, Miranda Soshvo

Physical Desription: His skin is very dark tan for some reason while his hair is bright white and his eyes steel blue. At first site, one might think he was burnt out, and maybe this is true, but at closer inspection, a gleam is evident in his eye... He has a spark that makes him extremely provocative to his pilots which basically puts his foot in the door for teaching purposes.

Emotional Description

While he is obviously a little compulsive and even obsessive when it comes to certain things, Courtney's constant thought process makes it impossible for him to lose touch. He always knows whats going on and he seems to know exactly how his students think. No one is really sure if he has good freinds or not, but he is often spoke to in a very freindly way by other commanders so some think he's either done something like save their lives or spent a long enough period of time with them to actually open up. He does not open up to his students- ever.

Personality:

He emanates intelligence; he can not be argued with because he will win. While he is a bit eccentric, he is extremely cool; he has an unbreakable sangfroid that makes everyone else around him comfortable. He offers up questions that are remarkably thought provoking and force you to think about every move you make, but then he also forces you to have a pace so you can't stagnate. His training methods are eccentric as well as his tactical obsessions and need for perfect control. He will not pass you unless you do exactly as he says- there is no arguing...

Overall, he's a nice guy, really needs a girl freind to take his mind off of his work, but its very hard to convince him of this... He listens to just about anything you have to say, but if he disagrees, he'll make you think about it so that you will begin to think his way. He's very complicated but fun to write about; he also has one heck of a sense of humor. Considering the fact he bears technique into people like a gun, he has a wicked perception of 'funny...' What that means- he can laugh at things that probably aren't supposed to be funny- even himself. But he can turn serious instantly.
