The Paragon is an Imperial-II-class Star Destroyer in service with the Vast Empire's Navy. The vessel is currently commanded by Pherik ‘Serpent’ Zail, the current Chief of Naval Warfare, and is therefore the flagship of the primarily-offensive Second Vast Imperial Fleet. The Paragon is the lead ship of Second Fleet's Task Force Aurek, and is the home of the 101st Vast Imperial Starfighter Wing, called Blade Wing.

Service History[edit]

The Paragon was commissioned one year after the Battle of Yavin, and assigned to Oversector Outer. Its first commander was Captain Ferival Brukarra. He was a competent if unremarkable officer, who sought a place on Grand Moff Kaine’s prestigious Scourge Squadron. Frequently denied a place with this elite Star Destroyer group turned the Captain bitterly against the Grand Moff. So frequent and bitter did his words become that his cunning First Officer, Commander Rhycus Dirral, was able to bring a charge of treason against the Paragon’s CO. Kaine removed Brukarra from command and promoted Dirral to Captain in his place.

It was under Dirral’s command that the Paragon engaged in its most decisive engagement. Following the Battle of Endor, Dirral continued to serve Kaine, and was ordered to engage in a battle in the Outer Rim on his behalf. The engagement was based on very faulty intelligence, and the Paragon walked right into an ambush laid on by the nascent Vast Empire. The mighty warship was crippled and boarded, and has remained in VE hands ever since.

In the years that followed, the Paragon has served in a variety of roles of the Vast Empire Navy. Following the Battle of Absit, the Paragon was selected as the new flagship for the Second Fleet, under the command of recently appointed Chief of Naval Warfare Pherik ‘Serpent’ Zail.
